Baseball Canada has decided to move toward allowing -3 BBCOR bats for 15U and 18U National Championships. That wording can be found HERE. Also note that this change to allow -3 BBCOR is only in place for 15U and 18U
It is BNL's understanding that, in 2026, both wooden bats (under the current guidelines) and -3 BBCOR will be permitted, giving players the choice of which bat they want to use. Given that all players will now have the choice, most do tend to choose the BBCOR option over wood, but the choice to use wood is still there.
The Baseball Canada Convention is scheduled for November 6 - 9 in Winnipeg where this may come up for conversation again, but after chatting via email with Baseball Canada, this is the understanding.
Typically, Baseball NL adopts all bat regulations that Baseball Canada has to maintain consistency across the board, and also as a way to keep costs minimal for parents and players (two sets of rules may mean two different bats that need to be purchased). Barring some sort of deviation from that precedent, BNL expects to adopt the bat rules as they are written (and linked above) moving into next year.
